Wie „Phantasie“ entstand
Die Musik begleitet mich, seit ich denken kann. Phantasie begann trotzdem nicht mit der Absicht, ein Album zu veröffentlichen.
Am Anfang stand eine einfache Frage: Wie lässt sich der Quintenzirkel so vermitteln, dass er nicht nur verstanden, sondern auch gehört, gespielt und mit den eigenen Händen erfahren werden kann?
So entstand die Idee eines Notenbuches. Leicht, greifbar und spielerisch. Der Quintenzirkel sollte nicht an der Wand hängen bleiben. Er sollte erklingen.
Die Harmonielehre gibt dabei den Weg vor. Die ersten 16 Stücke führen Schritt für Schritt durch die B-Tonarten:
- drei Stücke in C-Dur – ohne Vorzeichen
- drei Stücke in F-Dur – mit einem ♭
- drei Stücke in B-Dur – mit zwei ♭
- drei Stücke in Es-Dur – mit drei ♭
- vier Stücke in As-Dur – mit vier ♭
Mit jeder Tonart verändert sich der Klangraum. Was zunächst wie eine Ordnung der Vorzeichen aussieht, beginnt sich beim Spielen zu bewegen. Aus Theorie wird Erfahrung. Aus Erfahrung wird Musik.
Mein Lehrer Peter hörte die Stücke und sagte, das Album lade zum Träumen ein. Damit hatte es seinen Namen gefunden: Phantasie.
„Walzer der Liebe“ in D-Dur mit zwei Kreuzen und „Herz aus Gold“ in G-Dur mit einem Kreuz sind zwei kleine Gäste innerhalb dieser Ordnung. Sie folgen nicht dem Weg der B-Tonarten – und gehören gerade deshalb dazu. Auch ein klarer Weg darf an manchen Stellen eine andere Richtung nehmen.
Aus Harmonielehre wurde ein Notenbuch.
Aus dem Notenbuch wurde ein Album.
Und aus einer Ordnung entstanden 18 kleine Klangräume.
Das Album liegt auf meinem eigenen Homeserver. Es findet seinen Weg nicht über die üblichen Musikplattformen, sondern über diesen Link. Es steht hier ganz still und wartet auf Menschen, die wissen, wo die Tür ist.
Die Harmonielehre gibt den Weg vor. Die Phantasie entscheidet, wohin er führt.
How “Phantasie” Came to Be
Music has been with me for as long as I can remember. Even so, Phantasie did not begin with the intention of releasing an album.
It began with a simple question: How can the circle of fifths be taught in a way that allows it not only to be understood, but also heard, played, and experienced through one’s own hands?
That is how the idea of a book of sheet music came about—simple, tangible, and playful. The circle of fifths was not meant to remain hanging on a wall. It was meant to come alive through sound.
Harmony provides the path. The first 16 pieces lead step by step through the flat keys:
- three pieces in C major—with no sharps or flats
- three pieces in F major—with one flat
- three pieces in B-flat major—with two flats
- three pieces in E-flat major—with three flats
- four pieces in A-flat major—with four flats
With each key, the world of sound changes. What at first appears to be an orderly system of accidentals begins to move as it is played. Theory becomes experience. Experience becomes music.
When my teacher Peter listened to the pieces, he said that the album invited the listener to dream. And so it found its name: Phantasie.
“Walzer der Liebe” in D major, with two sharps, and “Herz aus Gold” in G major, with one sharp, are two small guests within this structure. They do not follow the path of the flat keys—and that is precisely why they belong. Even a clearly defined path may sometimes take a different direction.
Harmony became a book of sheet music.
The book became an album.
And from a system, 18 small worlds of sound emerged.
The album lives on my own home server. It does not find its way into the world through the usual music platforms, but through this link. It rests here quietly, waiting for those who know where the door is.
Harmony shows the way. Imagination decides where it leads.
